Faith-based partnerships and clergy involvement are two public expressions
of religious influence on public life. But another, often more subtle, influence

are most congregants most likely to participate? How, if at all, do they see
the connection between their religious and civic activities? Do these congregants
serve as bridge-builders or information mavens back and forth between these
two kinds of institutions?
