William A. Mirola is assistant professor of sociology at Marian College, and research associate at The Polis Center. He received the Ph.D. in sociology from IU-Bloomington. His research interests are in the areas of religion, social class, and social movement activism. He has published articles in the journals Social Science History and Sociology of Religion. Mirola is co-editor of a new textbook, Sociology of Religion: a Reader, published by Prentice-Hall. He is currently editing a volume for The Polis Center to be called Charting Congregational Cultures: An Atlas of Indianapolis Religion.
