Dr. Hock joined The Polis Center in 2012 as an Adjunct Research Professor. She also serves as an investigator of the IUPUI Center for Urban Health. Dr Hock has published over 130 research papers, and is inventor on several patents and software copyrights.

Her current focus is exploring new applications and enhancements for innovative User Gateway software to enhance biomedical research at IUPUI. User Gateway, originally built for evaluation of combination risks for cancer in rural communities, enables questions on risks of environmental exposures to human health over space and time. As a visualization tool, it may be used for hypothesis generation, data visualizations and decisions on choice of analytical tools for exported data.
