City of Indianapolis & The Indianapolis Museum of Art

Polis worked with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Indiana Water Science Center and the Indiana Silver Jackets to study a reach of the White River in Indianapolis that extends from the Ravenswood neighborhood to the IMA Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park.

The web-based application was designed to create real-time flood maps to determine building losses. The USGS Multi-Dimensional Surface-Water Modeling System (MD_SWMS) overlays the flood inundation grids with parcel-level property data to calculate the damage sustained to each property.
