Elfriede Wedam is a senior research associate. She manages the collection of field data about the social and demographic characteristics of Indianapolis congregations, faith-based organizations, and community groups. Her current writings examine issues of racial, ethnic, and religious change in post-industrial urban contexts. Wedam has a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
