The Polis Center is physically moving from its longtime home on Waterway Boulevard to the IU Luddy School of Informatics and Computing (Luddy Sept. 8-10. Polis officially moved from the School of Liberal Arts to Luddy as of July 1, which positions IU Indianapolis to serve constituencies more effectively in community-based information and analysis, enhances IU Indianapolis leadership and application of technology in collaborative and creative solutions for healthier and more resilient communities, and extends IU Indianapolis’ long tradition of service to Indianapolis and Central Indiana. Polis will remain community facing, collaborating with a wide range of organizations in order to define, measure, and improve community health, well-being, and resiliency. Aligning the Polis Center with the IU Luddy School of Informatics and Computing creates a direct connection to current and emerging fields in bioinformatics, data science, informatics, and health information management. The move also allows for expanded education opportunities such as a new crisis informatics program, building on the school’s expertise in data science and the center’s existing education programs in disaster management and data literacy. Its new address is IU Luddy School of Informatics and Computing at Indianapolis, 535 W. Michigan Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
