Marianne Cardwell
Director, Geoinformatics
Marianne Cardwell, PMP, GISP is Director, Geoinformatics, previously working as GIS Project Coordinator. She brings significant experience and expertise to this leadership role. Her background in GIS, application development, and project management contributes significantly to the Center’s work in GIS and data analytics and helps it expand its use into new areas.
Marianne is president of the Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) until June 2022, the state’s largest association of GIS professionals, and works with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and many of Indiana’s counties on issues related to natural disasters and crisis informatics.
Prior to joining Polis, she was Project Manager and Team Lead for Woolpert, GIS Programmer for SAIC, and GIS Manager for Parsons.
Marianne earned her BS degree in Geography from Michigan State University, MS degree in Geographic and Cartographic Sciences from George Mason University, and graduate certificate in Data Science from Indiana University.
