Marianne Cardwell and Megan Compton, Indiana Geographic Information Officer (IGIO)), will present a two-part series of webinars about the Data Harvest project to introduce counties to the new data schema for data layers and plans for data submission, quality checks, and publishing. The first was held June 23 and the second is scheduled for July 28. The official kickoff date for the project is August 2. The state GIO and The Polis Center received the Special Achievement award at the Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) conference. Polis’ role to date was processing, standardizing, and augmenting contributed data with additional information, integrating the data into the state’s internal databases, developing a new statewide geocoder, finalizing documentation, and making the data available to the public for download. Marianne explains the project in this post.
