Central Indiana needed place-based information and data-informed analysis of economic opportunity, the environment, health, key community trends, and more to enhance policy and decision-making in meaningful ways.
In early 2021, The Polis Center started developing the SAVI Equity Data and Information Hub with input from community stakeholders. It includes information from recent and future SAVI Talks events and reports, an equity data profile for Central Indiana, equity measures, and previous research on equity. Research continues.
Systems of racial and gender inequality have created barriers to equity in our city. This has created long-lasting inequities in education, health, and the economy. These inequities are linked, as poor educational outcomes can lead to poor economic outcomes and poor health outcomes. In response to national and local crises, The Polis Center began the SAVI Equity Data & Information Hub with input from community stakeholders.
Research and analysis continues in this sector and it currently houses content related to Central Indiana’s equity in economic opportunity, environment, health, and more. This includes information from recent SAVI Talks events and community trend reports, an equity data profile for Central Indiana, equity measures, and previous research on equity.
