Kari Leer
GIS Analyst
Kari Leer is a GIS Analyst working on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Risk MAP program on which Polis is collaborating with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources as Cooperating Technical Partners. This initiative aims to identify flood risk and promote informed planning and development practices to help reduce that risk throughout the state of Indiana.
Prior to joining Polis, she worked at Porter County Development & Storm Water Management as a CAD/GIS technician, at CDM Smith as a GIS specialist II and at Nokia (HERE) as a traffic editor.
Kari earned her B.A. degree in Geography from Valparaiso University, a GIS Certificate from DePaul University and is currently working toward becoming a Certified Floodplain Manager. She is a member of the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), the Indiana Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management (INAFSM) and the Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC).
