Kari Leer, GIS Analyst, works on the Cooperating Technical Partner projects on which Polis is collaborating with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. These projects are addressing ways to understand and mitigate the risk of flooding and updating flood maps for Indiana counties in several river and creek watersheds. Kari has a B.S. degree in geography from Valparaiso University and GIS Certificate from DePaul University. Prior to joining Polis, she worked at the Porter County Development & Storm Water Management as a CAD/GIS technician, with CDM Smith as a GIS specialist II, and at Nokia as traffic editor. She is a member of ASFPM (Association of State Floodplain Managers) and the Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC).
